Injectable drugs device and component solutions provider West has commercially introduced its B.safe syringe safety system.
The system is expected to protect against needlestick injury when using a prefilled syringe, according to West.
West Syringe Systems Strategic Market Development vice president Glenn Thorpe said the company is happy to provide its customers with the new syringe safety system.
"With the completion of the steps necessary to offer this system commercially, we are in position to meet growing market demand in this area, and are pleased to have already signed our first commercial agreement and commenced shipments," Thorpe added.
In 2011,West acquired the IP and rights to the system and developed and scaled-up the product at its manufacturing center in France.
